Diseases associated with this genus include : inapparent infection in their reservoir hosts ( wildebeest for alHV-1 and sheep for ovHV-2 ), but fatal lymphoproliferative disease when they infect MCF-susceptible hosts, including cattle, deer, bison, water buffalo and pigs.
